The selected candidate will be part of the research team of project CAPTURE (https://capture.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/), addressing the use of a shuttle drone for launch and capture other vehicles in cooperative and non-cooperative scenarios, with a deep focus on efficient drones for each type of mission.
This position targets candidates holding a PhD degree (or equivalent). The selected candidate is expected to work on the following topics, depending on the selected candidate’s background, preference, and experience: multiple and heterogeneous vehicle planning, non-cooperative planning strategies, on-line planning and control, multi-vehicle close interaction and control to achieve capture and launching maneuvers, environment perception and simultaneous localization and mapping, as well as vehicle and sensor integration for experimental testing.
The research will be conducted at the Dynamic Systems and Ocean Robotics group of the Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR) (http://welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/projects_cat/dsor/), supervised by Bruno Guerreiro and also in close interaction with the rest of the project and group research team. ISR/IST is the home to more than 40 PhDs and part of the LARSyS (Laboratory for Robotics and Engineering Systems – http://www.larsys.pt).
